Council has changed the way it is managing its suppliers and contractors and is inviting businesses that are interested in supplying their services or goods to Hay Shire Council to register through the purchasing platform VendorPanel, all relevant information including; insurances, licences/tickets, and quoted rates, can be lodged through VendorPanel.

If your business has not received an invitation via email and wishes to be included on Council’s VendorPanel list please contact Hay Shire Council on 02 6990 1100 or email tenders@hay.nsw.gov.au to receive the link.

                  Important Flood Advice – Update 15 December 2022
                  
                  Current River height: 5.16m and falling quickly. The water is steady in Maude and rising at Booligal, there are expected large inflows from the lower Mirrool Creek and Lachlan River over the coming days, with an expected peak now of 3.2m in Booligal  this week. Water is falling in Hillston. All flood gates are now open. Staff will undertake another level check in Booligal tomorrow as the predicted peak approaches. Grader crews have been deployed to rural areas this week and sealed road repairs have commenced. Some Roads are also closed. If you require flood assistance please contact SES on 132 500. Submissions will be received by the General Manager, Hay Shire Council, 134 Lachlan Street, Hay, up until their closing date as listed. A reminder that Council will sell the property at 27 Waratah Street Maude by Public Auction on Friday the 9th December at 11.00 am in the Council Chambers Hay. Please note that is the only property offered for sale.

                  New Councillor Elected
                  
                  The NSW Electoral Commission have completed their countback process to fill the vacant position on Council due to the resignation of Peter Dwyer in July. Mr Darren Clarke was declared the successful candidate and will commence official duties when he undertakes the Oath at the September Ordinary meeting.

                  ENGIE is hosting two community information sessions for a proposed wind and solar farm, south of Hay. The local community is invited to attend and help shape the project. Meet the ENGIE team at the Hay War Memorial Hall on Wednesday 24 August, 5pm-7pm and Thursday 25 August, 8am-10am.

                  BayWa r.e. Projects Australia is the proponent of a wind farm near Hay, and is currently preparing a development application to the NSW Government. A community information session will be held at the Hay War Memorial Hall on Thursday 19 May, 5pm-8pm.

                  Public Health Alert - Mosquito Warning
                  
                  NSW Health is alerting the community to protect themselves against mosquito bites. Japanese encephalitis virus has been detected in samples from commercial pig farms at five locations in southern and western NSW indicating the virus is likely circulating in the mosquito population.
