Draft Hay Youth Strategy

Council, at its meeting of 26th March 2024, resolved to place on public exhibition the draft Hay Youth Strategy (dated 12 March 2024) - The draft five-year Hay Youth Strategy aims to:
  • identify the challenges, needs and aspirations of Hay’s young people
  • inform, prioritise and connect future Hay Shire Council activities and resourcing to support and advance Hay’s youth, and
  • foster a sense of joint community ownership and shared responsibility for supporting, developing and empowering Hay’s young people.
The development of the draft Youth Strategy was informed by surveys, face-to-face consultations and a review of relevant reports and statistics. It sets out the high-level priorities for youth development over the next five years, and its implementation will be supported by annual action plans and reviews, enabling the strategy to remain relevant and responsive to changing circumstances and available resources.

Submissions on the draft Strategy will be received up until 5pm Friday 26th April 2024. All submissions should be addressed to the General Manager, Hay Shire Council, 134 Lachlan Street, Hay, emailed to mail@hay.nsw.gov.au or via the Your Say page
