Public Notice – Presentation of financial statements

In accordance with Section 418 (3) of the Local Government Act 1993 (NSW), Hay Shire Council advises that the ordinary Council meeting to be held on 27/11/2025 will include the presentation of the audited Financial Statements and the Auditor’s Reports for the year ending 30/06/2025. A summary of the Financial Statements is provided here

The Australia Day Committee invites the community to nominate local citizens for the 2026 Australia Awards to be presented at  Australia Day 2026. Nominations close Friday 12th December 2025.

Draft Code of Meeting Practice for public exhibition

The new 2025 Model Meeting Code has been published in the Government Gazette and is expected to be prescribed under the Local Government (General) Regulation 2021 (the Regulation) shortly. Councils must livestream meetings of the council and committees comprising wholly of councillors from 1 January 2026, Councils may determine standards of dress for councillors when attending meetings as well. Submissions are able to be received up until Friday 12th December 2025.

Temporary Interruption to Fluoride Dosing

Hay Shire Council advises that fluoride dosing at the Water Treatment Plant was temporarily suspended from 30 April 2025 due to equipment maintenance and safety upgrades.
Fluoridation will resume on Monday 27 October 2025, following system verifications and upgrades.
During this period, fluoride levels in the drinking water may have been below the recommended target. The water supply has remained safe to drink throughout this period.
