Draft Waste Services Policy

Council has endorsed the draft Waste Services Policy for public exhibition as part of its ongoing commitment to delivering safe, efficient and sustainable waste services across the Hay Shire. The new policy brings together existing waste management policies into a single, contemporary framework, providing clear guidance for the provision, management and regulation of Council's waste services while supporting compliance with current legislative and operational requirements.
The draft policy will replace the existing Mobile Garbage Bin Issue Replacement Policy and Waste Transfer Station Scavenging Policy, consolidating these into one easy-to-understand document. Council encourages residents, businesses and interested stakeholders to review the draft policy and provide feedback during the public exhibition period. Submissions will be accepted until Monday, 27 July 2026, before the policy is considered for final adoption by Council.
