    Monday               12noon - 6.00pm

    Tuesday               7.30am - 6.00pm

  • Anzac Day Program

    Program for Anzac Day

    • 6am - Dawn Service at the Library Complex - Short Address followed by the Ode, Last Post and Reveille Played by John Jansen.                                                                                                                                                            Pilgrimage to Hay Cemetery for reciting of the Ode and wreath laying.
    • Breakfast at Hay Services Club - cost is $9
    • 10:30am - Parade. Participants line up in preparation for the move off at 11am.                                                 Reciting of the Ode followed by bugler John Jansen with the last post ect.
    • 11am - Parade moves off down Lachlan, Moppett, Pine Street - break in parade to allow tributes to be laid at the Boer War Memorial then parade moves off to Hay War Memorial High School where the main assembly takes place.

               Assembly will be either outdoor or indoors depending on the weather.

              Mayor, School Captains and guest of honour Ben Jarratt addresses the gathering.

  • Community Transport arrangements after closure of the Hay Hire Car Service

    In response to the closure of the Hire Car Service, the Hay Community Transport will operate a vehicle to provide transport for community members within the town from Monday the 9th April 2018. This service will operate on a temporary basis between 8.00 am and 4.00pm Monday to Friday. Community transport is available to all persons. Bookings can be made by phoning 0488299904.

    Commencing Monday 5th March, the John Houstom Memorial Swimming Pool will open at 3pm from Monday to Fridays, and 12noon on weekends. The closing time remains at 7pm, except for Tuesdays where it closes at 6pm.

    Early morning swimming is no longer running this season.

    On behalf of the Hay Mardi Gras Committee, Hay Shire Council wishes to advise that the Hay Mardi Gras Parade will be held along the full length of Lachlan Street and into Macauley Street between Lachlan Street and Edward Street.     

    A road closure will be in place 12.30pm to 3pm on Saturday 3rd of March 2018.

    Collections due Monday 25th December will be moved to Tuesday 26th December, and collections due Tuesday 26th December will be collected on Wednesday 27th December.

    Collections due Monday 1st January will moved to Tuesday 2nd January, and collections due Tuesday 2nd January will be collected on Wednesday 3rd January.

    The Waste Transfer Station will be closed on the morning of Sunday 24th December 2017, Christmas Day, and the mornings of Wednesday 27th December 2017 and Tuesday 2nd January 2018. Other days will operate as normal.
